::If you visit Athens the Acropolis is a must to visit! Absolutely stunning skill, history and a fantastic view of Athens. Walking through Placa is quite an experience, wonderful atmosphere and beautiful shops! X

::A modern metro station, easy access to the lively historical centre of Athens (i.e. Acropolis and archeological museum). There is also a small exhibition with ancient findings from the area, as well as statues from the Acropolis of Athens.

::Most city-states in ancient Greece had at their centre a rocky mound or hill where they built their important temples and where the people could retreat to if under attack. The most famous Acropolis is the one in Athens. The Athenian Acropolia is home to one of the most famous buildings in the world: the Parthenon. You'll need about 1 hour 40 minutes in total to walk up, visit the hill, take in the view and some pictures as well as going back down.

::The staff in the information office was very helpful. We needed to get one of the new Athena Personalized cards and they directed us to a station where we could get it. All in English, since we speak nearly no Greek. So helpful! Thanks! And of course the station is clean and easily navigated!
