Very good overview of many wars Greece was involved with! Lots of cool stuff - great for people even if your not into museums. My one thing to remove a star was because half has English and then the other half was all in Greek so it was like a cliffhanger wanted to know what happened!

A detailed look at the Greek history of war and accomplishments. The museum is nicely segregated into various eras starting from the times of Alexander to WW II. The actual war planes are at display on the ground floor. The Greek war of independence has best displays. There are many sections where English is not displayed and hence difficult to understand what's on display. Also the QR codes are mostly not scannable

A very good array of interesting items from the Greek military history but it's all poorly organised and explained, mostly in Greek with some explanation and titles in English. A bit of a disappointment from an historic point of view as it doesn't give any context to all the artifacts. You can ask for a tablet at the entrance that gives some more information while walking around, although they seem to be trying to keep this secret...

Athens War Museum had a conscripted soldier behind a table selling the tickets at €4 each. It has an impressive collection of firearms and weapons from swords, shields and muskets to rifles and automatic weapons. Exhibits were mostly in Greek with little or no English and they didn't seem to follow a logical flow. Was disappointed that the most famous battles involving the Greek States, the Battles of Marathon, Thermopylae and Salamis only had one wall in one section dedicated to it. Information about these famous battles were also brief and in Greek. Overall, the visit was satisfactory for a war history buff like me but it may be disappointing to others

A nice, well organized in general museum. Not the largest of its kind by European standards. Very easy access by mass transportation. War is not a good term, military is more suitable.
