  I'm just a humble tourist, and needed some snacks - also, wanted to try another brand of ouzo. I was able to find what I needed without much hassle. I can't speak or write a lick of Greek, and the buying and checkout process went relatively smoothly.

  I can only assume, based on their behaviour, that they do not like having customers unless they are Greek. Bizarre behaviour from cashier and staff. One member of staff who clearly spoke fluent English pretended not to understand what I meant by 'Hummus' or 'bread'. I don't expect Greece to be England but where I come from (London) I deal with people of all nationalities on a daily basis and I don;t try to give them a hard time because they are not English.
