Autumn Titus Cannibalist
::The Cathedral Trimartyri in the old town of Chania on the street Chalidon, which leads directly straight down to the port. The church is a three-nave basilica dating from 1860. In front of the church is a large square (Platia Athinagora). The church is very beautiful inside, as it is quite bright unlike other orthodox churches. The history of the church is very interesting for that: It was said to have been built on the foundations of another church, which was converted into a soap factory during Ottoman rule. Mustafa Pasha Giritli, the owner of this factory, was said to have donated this church to the Christians of Chania when he was appointed Grand Vizier of the Ottoman Empire. Only 37 years after the construction of the church ended the Ottoman rule over Chania.

::Eine wunderschöne Kirche. Ruhig drinnen und gepflegt. Hier kann man mal durchatmen.

::Set overlooking a flagstoned square, the church looks magnificent in the bright Chania sunshine. Inside, it's a wonderful example of Greek Orthodox devotion with iconography, worshippers and exampl,es of superb architectural, building, and artistic crafts. It'll take no more than 10 to 15 minutes of your day, and you won't regret the time.
